too sad to blog

gwadzilla is taking a break
will be back in a week or so
trying to deal with the loss of my dog roscoe

pictured above are my two dogs
Roscoe and Brutus
Brutus in Black
Roscoe in Gray

Roscoe and Brutus were brothers
born of the same Australian Shepard Father
and different Golden Retriever Mothers
eight years old a piece... in great health

this weekend past Roscoe became ill
lethargic and weak.... I took him to the vet
the vet ran tests but tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber were too busy ringing up the bill to figure out what was causing his long list of symptoms
he died late Sunday night... early Monday morning
Lisa and I were there by his side when he passed

I am in great pain

gwadzilla archive with some images of the dogs
scroll down this gwadzilla archive for some more words about my dogs

I don't feel like doing much more than crying right now

So sorry to learn of your family's loss. Roscoe is waiting for you and yours on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Try to think of the good times and let this heartbreak slide away.

Its crazy how big hearted folks can associate pain/sorrow. As I read the sad news I thought/felt some of your pain/sorrow as I teared up thinking of past buddies I've lost. Teri and I's hearts are with you big brutha.

Peace

I know what its like, its a deep deep pain. One that at moments like this when friends go through it i can dig up and start crying like it happened all over again.

revel in the joys and love that the noble dog brought to you and your family...

I'm very sorry to hear this. Loosing a dog like that is in many ways like loosing a family member.

Hang in there.

Sorry for the loss. I am new to dogs - picking up our 8 week old mastiff next weekend - but doing the research on training and getting the house ready has made me feel like a dog guy already.

Be well.

Hi Joel,
I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. I know, from having read some of your comments from time to time, how attached you were to both of them. Just think of him being in doggy Heaven, chasing all the critters he wants and looking down to watch over all of you. He will always be with you. xoxo Meg

So sorry to hear about your loss. The loss of a pet can only be appreciated by those who have loved a pet.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I think I'll have to make sure I give Rawley and Yoho extra long belly rubs tonight. Sorry for your loss. Here's a little humour:

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Gwadz,

Losing a dog can be worse than losing a human. The pain they endure for us & the thoughts they can not put into words only makes it that much worse.

You & the family are in my thoughts.
