not as planned

things do not always go as planned
I will admit... sometimes I am to blame

today I tried to go for a run as I broke for lunch
about 15 minutes into my slow pace low intensity moderately hilly run I felt some tightness in my right calf
I stopped my momentum and worked to loosen things up

back on the trail
trying to pick up the pace I was feeling it start to tighten up again
in addition to my calf tightening up... my shin was feeling some pain
so... I stopped to stretch and try and loosen things up... again

rather than trying to run I decide to walk
my 45 minute run turned into an over hour walk

better than nothing
better to walk today and be able to run and ride in the days that follow
nothing would be achieved by hurting myself
