What is Tour de Fat?

Sponsored by New Belgium Brewing, Tour de Fat is a big bike festival. It starts with a parade to Yards Park, where attendees can expect a festival jam-packed with entertainment, local vendors, and, of course, New Belgium beer. Costumes are heartily encouraged. See information on last year's Tour de Fat here. RSVP for this year's Tour de Fat on Facebook.
Check-in for the parade is at 10 a.m., and the parade starts rolling at 11 a.m. The party at Yards Park runs from 12 to 5 p.m. Tour de Fat is family-friendly---bring your kids! Check back here for news and updates on the great games, entertainment, performances and you can expect at Tour de Fat 2013!

Admission?

Tour de Fat is free, but you'll need to register for the preceding parade to Yards Park. We suggest a $10 donation when registering (which will benefit the local bike-related nonprofits listed above). The first 200 riders to register receive a fancy Tour de Fat license plate. Register for the parade and see more information here.

Trade Your Car for a Bike

One of the cornerstones of Tour de Fat is the opportunity for one attendee to trade their car for a bike. The selected winner will receive $2,500 to spend on a commuter bike of thier choice at a local bike shop. To enter, post a video on the D.C. Tour de Fat Facebook event page detailing why you should win the trade.

Volunteer!

We can't pull off Tour de Fat without help from reliable volunteers.
Volunteers get to attend a pre-TDF happy hour celebration, a New Belgium T-shirt, and drink tokens.
