SNOW DAY! SNOW DAYS ROCK! MAKE THE BEST OF SNOWDAYS!

SNOW DAY!
ROCK CREEK PARK SNOW DAY!
Strava Data on my dog walk with Didg

never any actual consideration about sledding
as I have some experience with sledding
in short... if the grass has been cut and is still visible after the snow has fallen
then it is not enough snow for sledding

I am not into riding a sled down a mud hill
it is neither fun or sustainable

sledding
sledding on the gwadzilla page

including a picture of me sledding that appeared on the cover of the Washington Post in 1985

the boys were sent for a hike in the am as the snow was still falling
they came back quickly with intentions for something different
not sure if they were gone long enough for the dog to poop
so I stepped in to walk the dog
to walk the dog and to soak in the spectacular winter wonderland

Didg on the Page

Rock Creek Park was an actual winter wonderland
not deep enough to sled or cross country ski
but beautiful just the same
not cold and firm enough for horseback riding or mountain biking... if mountain biking were legal in Rock Creek Park
but find for trail running or hiking

I was walking my dog

the stone bridge in Rock Creek Park
great book on the history of Rock Creek Park

after the late morning hike with the dog in Rock Creek Park I returned home and made lunch for Dean, Grant, and their neighbor Alik who were all home on a snowday
they played Monopoly rather than attending the "forced march"

after the hike and then lunch I had the notion of an afternoon hike
but Lisa had plans to take the boys on a trek to Columbia Heights for some Christmas shopping
not holiday shopping... Christmas shoppiing
we may not be religious... but we celebrate the holiday with the tree and toys with a little back whisper of a guy with a beard and a red suit

Didg is standing on old parts of marble from the US Capitol building
pretty cool stuff
like a building graveyard
