trucks... buses... cars... bicycles... pedestrians...

in short...
everyone needs to be respectful of others rights
everyone needs to be respectful of others space
people need to be alert
people need to anticipate the variables around them

my elementary school age kids talk about the shock that pedestrians express when they are passed by them on the bike
in so many cases of these pedestrians were looking past their shoe laces or had their head out of their smart phone they would see the approaching child on a bicycle

in NY a pregnant woman was hit by a delivery person on a bicycle
hope everyone is okay
there is an idea of contributory neglect and percent at fault
I was not there... but these are the types of things that need to be factored in
and for things to be fair
there can not be a system that is anti-bike
