it is truewe need to protect people from others
we need to protect people from themselves
we child proof our houses
our products are so child proof that adults can not open them
so of course it only makes sense that the only way to control the behavior is to remove the opportunity
we can tell drivers how to drive
the laws can be set
PSAs can ask nicely
statistics can offer up some harsh realities
yet the car drivers continue to misbehave
so the infrastructure must alter its objective and its design
rather than facilitating flow which enables the bad behavior
set things up so the mis-behavior is convenient or comfortable
guide the behavior towards appropriate behavior
sadly... we are all faking as we go along
so... there needs to be the opportunity for social experiments
