a day in History
a very confusing day in history
a day that has yet to be clearly understood or clearly explained
what sort of people comprised the mass of people who stormed the US Capitol on January 6th?
the people that stand out - the guys that got the most attention...
are these a fair cross section of the people and the agenda of that day?
finally so many people had a justification for all of the tactical gear they had purchased at The Bass Pro Shop
no... that does not sum up the crowd... unfortunately it is more complex...
there were people who believed that they were on the side of "right"
not just Right Wing
to some it was a protest
to others it was a field trip
and well
I am not sure what else it was
as... never in my life would I have ever considered what these people did as being okay
MOB?
I would not become part of a mindless Mob Like this...
momentum like this is scary
it is amazing that more people did not get hurt
shocking that the US Capitol Police did not do more to "hold the line"
what was the plan of attack?
what was the plan of defense?
I think each side was as shocked as the other...
everyone finding themselves in a situation that they had never expected to be in
one issue...
where do people get their information?
where do people get what they believe to be the "facts?
and of course...
there is the involvement of Donald Trump
Did Donald Trump instruct his supporters to take this action?
other than being 99.9% White and male...
I am sure that there was some diversity
some people being more educated than others
people with military backgrounds
not everyone was treating this as a replacement for ice fishing or deer hunting that weekend...
not to make fun of these guys in their army man costumes
but Urban Camouflage may very well be suit and tie
what they were wearing made them stand out
clearly not from around here
I do not think there is a Bass Pro Shop inside the Beltway
Why did people climb the walls to the US Capitol building when there are stairs right there?
What did people actually think they were going to achieve?
What if they had gotten the ballots?
it was a disturbing day
it was a national embarrassment
it was nothing less than shocking
it was also a local shock
as a resident of Washington DC I feel that many Washingtonians felt that this was a personal intrusion
I look forward to this day being better explained to the American people
we need to bridge the divide
Red States and Blue States need to work together
even with our differences
Fake News is really the Bad Element that needs to be Removed
I was blind to the differences
when growing up I just thought it was "the news"
it did not occur to me that there could be a slant
sure in school they had taught us about "yellow journalism"
