so much of our social entertainment took place just over the border
so many of our peers lived in DC
there were ideas and information that trickled down
pre-digital
pre-Internet
talk on the playground sort of stuff
you know... Mike died ingesting Pop Rocks with Coca Cola and Bubble Yum has Spider Eggs
that sort of information
Ian and Henry worked at the Sunshine House in Bethesda
they were already local legends before they were actually famous
before really knowing any of the music by Minor Threat... I already knew about Ian
there was this classic joke that I have told far more times than I have heard
