I do not really follow professional sports... or any sports for that matter... but the talk about moving the football stadium and\or basketball\hockey arena does intrigue me...

DC has its sports teams...

DC has a love\hate relationship with their teams

The Washington Football team went through years and years of hate for the owner Dan Snyder and then there was the topic of the racist team name, Washington Redskins. The Washington Football Team played in Washington, DC for years at RFK... then moved to Maryland and now there is talk of moving to Virginia... why not renovate RFK and bring things back to DC Proper?

and then...

there is talk about moving the pro teams out of the arena in Chinatown and moving those sporting events to Virginia... which of course will alter the dynamic of that area... games and concerts have to generate a great deal of revenue to the surrounding businesses... COVID did its damage... removing the DC teams from the sports complex in Chinatown would clearly cause an economic ripple...

What should be done?

Maybe let Chinatown become Chinese again?

or

Focus on having the DC teams play in DC?

Chinatown is far less Chinese than it once was...
Chinese businesses and Chinese residents have been forced out

Kung Fu Studios and Kung Fu Stores are few and far between
the Chinese markets are no more...
