yes... it is a party
but
it is also away to share a message

Of course!
Part of the objective of the Confer Cat 2024 is to get the word out about issues with the Health Care System in this country.
Photos and Social Media Post are fun... then also Social Media Post can be instrumental in telling the story of David Confer and how his life could have been different had he been given the proper medical care that he needed\deserved. The system favors the rich and the while and does less for the less fortunate and the brown skinned people.
Or course Cate wants to get the DC Cycling community together in the spirit of David Confer, but Cate also wants to spread the word about the system and the results of its injustices.
The Confer Cat 2024 with its dual platform will have all sorts of checkpoints with photo opportunities!

If you want to take photos... come along to the start... be there at 3:45 and start warming up your camera... then meet up with the volunteers at 4:15
and maybe ride off with one of the volunteers to hang at their manned check point... and then maybe migrate to the next manned check point...

here are some tips I put on the Confer Cate Event Page on Facebook
In the Alleycat Race it can be a mixture of "everyman for themselves" and forged allegiances
with the Just for Fun Alleycat Lite event... people may want to consider some of the same... allegiances can be made and then also broken... people of similar intensity should roll together... similar speed... similar goals... then also... there may want to be packs of friends that ride together, a no rider gets left behind sort of pact...
I would think that this event would have a number of people from the DC Bike Party crowd... and then also maybe some Tour De Bike Lane D.C.... maybe at 3:45 at the start you can start looking for that set of wheels that you remember riding with on your commute or your last DC Bike Party... spark up a conversation and see if maybe you are a good match to ride with.. or let the Race\Ride Start... you may find yourself going from one checkpoint to the next checkpoint in the same order... so form an allegiance then...
just a thought...
I often ride a rider with a similar engine... John Dinn or Bruce... either knowledgeable of the city and also both with strong diesel engines
