one time in college a guy I knew was wasted and fell on a glass coffee table at a party...
it was like the movies... except there was no blood... glass everywhere, but no injury
after this happened I suggested that everyone kick in a few bucks to help pay for the table
immediately a guy who was better friends with the table breaker than myself stepped forward and stated that this is something that this guy needs to handle himself... that he did shit like this all the time and had to learn from his mistakes...
we were all cash poor... it just seemed more sense to me for everyone at the party to put in a few bucks and put this behind me... but that guy was on the baseball team with his drunk like a sailor on leave friend... so I left it at that...
my petition for us to work together on this was denied...
the next weekend there was a Scavenger Hunt...
there were things on the list that people had to "steal"
bowling pins... the Red Horse at the Red Horse Inn... a match pack from the local strip club Rosie's and so on...
well...
since certain items were stolen... when the police got wind of this they showed up at the Scavenger Hunt end point party...
as people rolled in... the police accepted the stolen goods and sent people packing...
the guy who lived in the house took all the blame
that was the same guy who was against sharing the responsibility of the broken glass table
Karma?
