I worked with the managers\owners of Race Pace to get donations for Gearin Up Bicycles in DC
Race Pace was patient and kept us in mind
when the Trek Shop conversion started
Race Pace was generous enough to invite Gearin Up Bicycles to come and pick up all sorts of stuff that would not be needed by the new trek stores
unfortunately there were no free bikes...
but...
there were all sorts of bicycle stores display stands, bicycle floor races, hooks for hanging bikes...
and then all sorts of retail stuff that was left behind
Race Pace Water Bottles... some used pedals... some clothing... some helmets... and other miscellaneous items
I worked as an an intermediary representing Gearin Up Bicycles
working with the shops and the not for profit to try and keep these usable bicycle things out of the landfill and into Gearin Ups shop!

they were in very generous in their time
I was pleased to meet Nik and thank him face to face
I was a little bummed that the Race Pace Sprinter Van was not up for grabs
but was pleased that I could help Nik disassemble a few racks and place them in his Sprinter van
