Last night Michael Jones came over to my house and we worked on a GHOST BIKE for Shawn Bega Blumenfeld... there was some joy and sadness to the project...
I never want to have to make a Ghost Bike for any of my friends ever again...
SIMPLE and CLEAN
after a base coat of white primer
we hit the bike with some Reflective Paint
then glow in the dark orange for accents
Orange was Bega's Color
Orange... like Hub Racing Orange...
there are a few more details that Michael is trying to work out
Sheba and Andy Zalan may have a few subtle stickers that could take this bike to a more "custom" level
I know that AZ made some small pins with Bega's courier company logo...
that would make for a great Head Badge...
I was thinking that same badge as the head badge then again on the seat tube down near where the water bottle would go
Michael is honoring Shawn by racing the races that Bega had on this year's schedule
this weekend... Church Creek Time Trial
Michael is focused on that
but some time after that
we plan on heading up to Emmitsburg to place the bike at the location of the accident and death
sorry...
I do not feel like the word "accident" is appropriately used
the location of the "murder" of Shawn Bega Blumenfeld?
well... maybe not murder
definitely not an accident
something in between...
we plan on putting the Ghost Bike at the location where Shawn Blumenfeld was killed by a negligent driver in Emmitsburg Maryland
