I am not following the story closely... yet... I still believe... the response may be too much as a kiss is just a kiss and people make mistakes... mistakes that we all can learn from

this guy from the Spanish Soccer Federation may have crossed a line
but...
does this merit termination?
what about learning from our mistakes?
what about measuring a person's value not just by a flawed moment but by a look at their career contributions
I guess it could be said...
I AM NOT A FAN OF CANCEL CULTURE
people are so quick to eliminate people from their behavior
rather than allowing these moments to be "teaching moments"
teaching moments for the individual
teaching moments for the world
there is a saying
"I AM SO EXCITED... I COULD KISS YOU!!!"

maybe he should not have

it also mentions kissing in Spanish culture

but...
everyone gets to have an opinion
years ago USA had a little soccer controversy
was the tearing off of the jersey too much
was it appropriate?
if this happened in 2023 instead of 1999 would there be CANCELATION of this athlete?
I believe in a society of living and learning
not rules of intolerance
people are involved in far more egregious actions without penalty
the momentum of the times

ZERO TOLERANCE is not how we live our lives
maybe we should
SPEEDING CARS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE STREETS!
PEOPLE WHO ARE A MINUTE LATE FOR WORK SHOULD BE FIRED!
RESTAURANTS WITH IMPERFECT FOOD ORDERS SHOULD BE CLOSED!
ILLEGALLY PARKED CARS SHOULD BE IMPOUNDED!
the severity of the Cancel Culture is inconsistent with our system
our judiciary system is not a system of Black and White
justice is filled with gray
not sure why we tolerate intolerance in some situations
while we tolerate what we should not in other situations
I have no issue with the taking off of the jersey in celebration
and
well... the kiss
I can see how the athlete could feel as if it was awkward and inappropriate
but...
really...
I think that the response from the Cancel Culture is a bit drastic
