I have had a few interview
getting a number of call
lots of the calls are not call backs
but headhunters
headhunters with lower paying jobs than I am applying for\interested in
so...
I worked as an IT Specialist - Desktop Support Technician for over 2 decades
but...
I stepped away...
I took a break...
and then
I took a break from the break
this time needs a good answer
there is a good answer
but do future employers like my answer
I took a break from IT to try and get a job in Bicycle Advocacy
my resume did not have any "bike jobs"
plenty of volunteerism in the bike world
but no bike jobs
so... I took a bike job with Capital BikeShare
it was a cool bike experience
but low paying
thought I could live on less... maybe not as easy as I thought
then
I left the mechanic position at Capital BikeShare to work on a photo book project
the project took longer than expected
it was a joy to develop this project
I am pleased to have self published at 4 book photo series on DC Bicycle Messengers
Book One in the Five Book Series
the books are wonderful as they are
I have applied for a grant to try and expand the photo books to include words
there are no names... no stories... no anecdotes
that was too much to add to an already daunting project
fingers crossed on the grant
and then
fingers crossed on getting an IT gig that suits me
